On the 7th of June 2020 within the TICASS project was held The International Scientific Conference of Young Researchers “Human & Technologies. PERSPECTIVES: “Educational Aspects of Technologies of Imaging in the Perspective of Visual Literacy”

For the substantive content of the Conference were responsible three academic institutions: Jan Evangelista Purkyne University in Usti Nad Labem from Czech Republic, The Polish University Abroad in London, United Kingdom, and Institute of Pedagogy at University of Szczecin in Poland.
The Conference took place with the use of TEAMS platform and was coordinated by Professor Elżbieta Perzycka, Project Regional Coordinator and The Mentor for Early Career Researchers, in the TICASS project.
Participants of the Conference were greeted by Dr. Aleksandra Łukaszewicz Alcaraz – TICASS Project Main Coordinator based at Academy of Art in Szczecin, Poland. Further introductions were made by: Prof. Elżbieta Perzycka TICASS Project Regional Coordinator and The Mentor for Early Career Researchers from University of Szczecin, Poland, Dr Grażyna Czubińska from The Polish University Abroad in London, United Kingdom, Dr. Adela Machova, TICASS Project Regional Coordinator from Jan Evangelista Purkyne University Usti nad Labem, Czech Republic.
The main group of speakers were formed by young researchers – PhD students from doctoral studies from two academic institutions: The Polish University Abroad in London (9 persons) and University of Szczecin (7 persons). However, in the conference participated also persons from Italy and Czech Republic. Invitation to participate in the conference was also accepted by prof. Jarek Janio from Santa Ana College, United States. He presented the situation of “Teacher support system in California - California Community Colleges educational system during COVID-19.” In the Conference also participated a student from Ningbo Univerity in China, Chen Chen who is applying for admission for doctoral studies at University of Szczecin.
The Conference went smoothly: each participant had prepared a multimedia presentation, which was screened during the speech. The preparations for the presentations for the Conference were realized from October 2019 to May 2020 during seminars with doctoral students each month. Until March 2020 these seminars were stationary, and in the avent of COVID-19 outbreak were transferred to online system.
The Conference was divided into three thematic sessions: 1) Ethics & Education, 2) Technologies of Visual Codes, 3) Society & Culture. After each section, participants had time for questions and answers, and during the entirety of the conference there was opportunity to comment and discuss online.
The Conference was summed up by Dr. Aleksandra Łukaszewicz Alcaraz, Prof. Elzbieta Perzycka and Prof. Jarka Janio. Participants were invited for the next thematic conference that will take place on 20th of June, also in online form.
