Exhibitions.
During the secondment in Italy we open the official exhibition of TICASS - Rapprochement with the public space - to present our research in Poland, South Africa, Great Britain, Czech Republic, Kenya, and Italy, about visual messages in urban spaces. We use this space also as a tool of research, involving people of several ages (kids, university students, adults) to realize interviews about the different perspectives of the spaces and the visual communication in the urban spaces.
Thanks to cooperation and joint reflection with UJEP, we underlined the importance to give feedback on some peculiar paths developed in the main framework of the TICASS project during 2018 and 2019.
The second exhibition - TI.M.E. TICASS Museum Experience – was an interactive experience about art education between Italian and Kenyan schools, discovering primary colors, creativity, and different languages of communication. Thanks to the cooperation of McZee, a cultural association of Macerata, we exhibit documentation of the activities conducted in Italy and in Kenya with preschool and primary pupils. We provided the visitors also the opportunity to interact with some materials and to leave an artistic trace, improving the same exhibition. The idea is to bring this exhibition to Africa and to involve schools and students in the further development of activities already undertaken.
The third exhibition - Opportunities - Solo exhibition by Ales Loziak - was an art project created during a stay in Kenya, discovering different sides and perspectives of opportunities.
Thanks to this exhibition, visitors have discovered some perspectives connected to the urban space of Kilifi, re-read through the eyes of the photographer. It was an opportunity to discuss and to discover different realities through the visual language. The exhibition was much appreciated by those who visited the space, and has become a place of open reflection which has allowed us to immerse ourselves in different contexts, improving the intercultural dialogue.
All the exhibitions and the activities were carried out thanks to a great cooperation between Universities (UNIMC & UJEP), McZee, and Museo Buonaccorsi. A particular thanks to the UNIMC students who cooperated actively to organize, install, and support all the exhibitions.
