Deliverable 4.1 - Project management
The inauguration of the TICASS project was held on the 8th of May, at 3 PM, at the Academy of Art in Szczecin. The meeting was attended by researchers from the Czech Republic, Italy, Poland, Republic of South Africa, and United Kingdom.
After the official introduction by the Rector of Academy of Art in Szczecin, prof. Dariusz Dyczewski, and by Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Painting and New Media, dr hab. Danuta Dabrowska-Wojciechowska, followed the proper meeting dedicated to theoretical framework, methodological approach, tools for empirical research, and ethical issues.
Theoretical basis for the research in relation to philosophy of pragmatism (Charles Sanders Peirce, John Dewey, Richard Rorty), visual culture (William J. Thomas Mitchell), and ethics (Charles Taylor) was presented by Dr. Aleksandra Lukaszewicz Alcaraz (AASZ), Poland.
Methodological basis of the research in relation to the foundations of the project, especially visual communication in perspectives proposed by Paul Martin Lestner, but also theory of mass communication of George Gerbner, was presented by prof. Maria Czerepaniak-Walczak (SENK), Poland.

- Visual Document Analysis Card according to Gerbner
- Visual Document Analysis Cards according to H.D. Lasswell
was realized by Dr. Sylwia Bakowska (SENK), Poland.
Presentation of templates of ethical documents was done by Dr. Aleksandra Lukaszewicz Alcaraz (AASZ), Poland.
At the end of the meeting, logistics and issues concerning the division into working groups were discussed. As a result, the researchers could start fulfilling their respective tasks.
