Deliverable 2.5 Report on the Educational Recommendations for Studies in Media, Art and Design.
TICASS research team, lead by University of Macerata with help of Jan Evangelista Purkyne University in Usti nad Labem, have prepared the Report on the Educational Recommendations for Studies in Media, Art and Design.
This Report will be published in as the monograph and shared with different stakeholders, governmental and non-governmental concerned with the field of education:
The main objective of the Report on the Educational Recommendations for Studies in Media, Art and Design is to explain the theoretical frame supporting the research work of targeted steps in the TICASS project. The analysis of the international background on visual studies was the starting point to path an interdisciplinary discussion leading toward the empowerment of critical skills both in the use of visual languages and in the designing of educational methods.
The Report introduces some educational strategies to experience visual languages within intercultural social contexts. Clusters of images, collected and analyzed according to the reference paradigms developed by Lasswell & Lester, are availed calling the attention on participatory strategies and actions. In support to the theoretical dimension and educational recommendations, the document contains a specific section of best practices - implemented in the course of the project - involving children, young people and adults within the countries participating in the project. The theoretical-practical actions produced some educational recommendations oriented to encourage a greater competence in different professional fields dealing with visuality: in the artistic domains, in education (from kindergarten to university level), in culture and communication.
