Aleksandra Łukaszewicz Alcaraz

Ph.D in Philosophy, an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Painting and New Media at the Academy of Art in Szczecin.

A specialist in the fields of philosophical aesthetics and theory of culture and art, who presents an interdisciplinary approach, combining elements of aesthetical and social reflection with an analysis of artistic events.

Publishes scientific, critical, journalistic, and literary texts in: Nowa Krytyka (New Critics), Konteksty (Contexts), Contemporary Aesthetics, and Pragmatism Today, among others.

A member of the editorial board for philosophical review Nowa Krytyka, of the Polish Society for Aesthetics, the Polish Society for Phenomenology, and the Australasian Society for Continental Philosophy.

Obtained honorable mention in the Stefan Morawski Competition for best Ph.D thesis in the field of aesthetics, and a grant from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education. That dissertation, Epistemological Function of Photographic Image, was published by the editorial Scholar (December 2013).

Received various grants; recently a scholarship from the Kosciuszko Foundation for research on the work of Joseph Margolis in art, culture, and aesthetics.
