The 4th Ticass International Conference – P.Art-icipA©tion. Education, Visual Languages and Intercultural Strategies.

The 4th Ticass International Conference – P.Art-icipA©tion. Education, Visual Languages and Intercultural Strategies – was held in Macerata on 25th-26th of November at the Department of Education, Cultural Heritage and Tourism and at the Museo Buonaccorsi.

The conference was an important opportunity of dialogue between researchers, artists, and experts in the educational, artistic and cultural heritage promotion fields. We have developed 7 research panels, a poster session, and an extra open exhibit, in which the interdisciplinary nature of the project emerged with various theoretical paradigms and best practices or piloting activities. The participation of more than 40 researchers and experts has allowed discussing issues related to the Ticass project.

In the panel, we focused on 1. Images, learning processes and social communication; 2. Tangible and Intangible Cultural Heritage; 3. Multigenerational reading of Urban Space; 4. Museums, Landscapes and participative strategies; 5. Art, interreligious dialogue and inclusion; 6. Storytelling, visual literacy and creative productions; 7. Media languages and social awareness.

The international level involved Ticass researchers, scholars, and experts from Poland, Czech Republic, Great Britain, Italy, Kenya, and Spain.

During the conference, the working group visited the three exhibitions held as part of the Ticass project – Rapprochement with the Public Space; TI.M.E. - Ticass Museum Experience; Opportunities – developing joint observations and reflections. Furthermore, at the end of the work, we realized the Round Table: “Educational Recommendations for Implementation of Integral Theory of Visual Education” in a participative way, also with the involvement of students. The interdisciplinary dialogue between the participants and the cooperative approach have made it possible to focus on many research hubs, drawing useful trajectories for the development of indications and guidelines related to visual education and the promotion of intercultural dialogue.
